Madinat Jumeirah, Dubai

Another place nearby is Madinat Jumeirah - The Arabian Resort of Dubai. It is a magnificent tribute to Dubai's heritage and is styled to resemble an ancient Arabian citadel. It is luxurious and ornate, opulent with an overwhelming sense of tradition. Meandering waterways form part of the resort.

The entire shopping mall was housed like a traditional colourful and vibrant market. Meandering paths lead visitors through a bazaar-like atmosphere in which open fronted shops and intimate galleries spill onto the paved walkways. The sounds of craftsmen and women at work combine with the aroma from street cafés and boutique restaurants.

I like the structure of the building, the traditional feel. And there was great views of the Burj as well in different parts of the mall. We just strolled and shopped in a relax manner in the afternoon, enjoyed a sip of coffee and juices in one of the cafes. We had lunch in a chinese restaurant where we tried the Laksa and Nasi Goreng and Wanton, which is a world of difference from what we get here. Authencities aside, we must count our blessings we are able to get chinese food there.
