Learning to accept

I read this from a chinese book, which I translated into English :
We are born with a character and destiny unique to ourselves. Our direction in life should be to live a full life with our unique destiny. Coming to terms with our own destiny is a beauty by itself, is a success by itself. Strive towards your ideals, make it happen, make it succeed, make yourself love yourself more each day. Make it a point that each day will be the best day of your life, the day you are the most proud of yourself. It may sound a little self-centred and egoistic, but you would have succeeded. Being self-centred is better than avoiding your shortcomings. Happiness is often forsaken when we dwell in our shortcomings, living in self-pity and self-denial. Two of Life's tragedies are firstly, being busy chasing after wealth when we're alive, and secondly, having spent all of our wealth when we are still alive. If we learn to accept our destiny, even these two tragedies can become life's pleasures, life's happiness.
