Garlic press

I saw this piece of equipment - the Garlic Press - and was impressed. Instead of chopping garlic into tiny bits to be used for stir frying, we can use this Garlic Press to crush garlic into bits without your hands smelling of garlic anymore! In the first place, I am lazy of removing/peeling the outer skin of cloves of garlic. So I thought I just buy those ready-chopped garlic in a bottle. But then, they do not seem fresh after a while and turn yellowish or wet. So I resorted to buying ready-peeled garlic in packets and I only need chop them up before frying.

Now that I found this Garlic Press, it will be a breeze. Open up the handles and just put a garlic into the squarish area and close the handles and you have ready minced garlic!
This one from Meidiya Supermarket costs $19.90 (because it was Meyer brand) so I did not buy. I saw another similar one in Save N Save for about $6 but noticed it was a little rusty, so I did not buy. Now I am still trying to find where I can buy a cheap yet good quality Garlic Press.

  1. I thought it was a good thing also but having to dismantle and wash it after you use it, might as well chop the garlic like before. Much faster!! Mine is sitting in my drawer as a part of my useless kitchen items collection.
