Whenever I pass by Geylang (the red light district) during weekends, it is sure to be jammed. All the lorongs and lanes and main roads are packed with many people - tourists, loads of foreign workers of various nationalities, and many "night solicitors". There were also sightings of bogus Thai monks. Cars often come to a snail pace, and that is when we can view the going-ons of this well-known trade in full action. The solicitors are dressed or rather skimpily dressed, in negotiations with potential clients for the night. I cant help but feel sad for them whenever I see this.
