Happy Saka Dawa, tashi delek!

Today, 15 June is Saka Dawa, the Tibetan Vesak Day, which falls on 15th of 4th month of Tibetan calendar and its the most auspicious day. The date coincides with three important events in the life of Buddha; the birth, the Enlightenment and Parinirvana. It is the holiest month and believed that all good deeds or virtues or prayers are multiplied by 100 milllion times. In general most people observe a vegetarian diet, take the Mahayana 8 Precepts, refrain from killing domestic animals and give out alms during the month. Be good!

Here's a cute portrait of 75 faces of His Holiness Dalai Lama. Happy Saka Dawa!
