Koo Kee Dumpling & Ramen House

Went for a drive and shopping and early dinner just now with 2 buddies because we wanted to be back home by 7.30pm to watch the crucial table-tennis match (of the year) between Singapore and China. Tonight will be the day to see if Singapore will realise our dream of an Olympics gold medal after 43 years?

Went to Koo Kee Dumpling & Ramen House restaurant in the basement of Parkway Parade (next to Cold Storage). This is the 2nd time we came here, as this place is the "it" place now for my gang. The "it" place was usually the Lao Hong Kong restaurant in Katong. Now, we discovered the Beijing fried la mian, the Xiao Longbao, the Fried Beancurd Roll, the Guo Tie and Har Kow (prawn dumplings). All were quite good. The interesting dish of Fried Lychee Prawn, didn't go down well with my friends because it was sweet and savoury at the same time. But I quite liked it. And all went well with the 8
Treasures Tea.

In the older days, Koo Kee is famous for their Yong Tow Foo noodles, now they seemed to have diversified to restaurant specialising in dumplings and ramen. Quite a bold move for a household name if I may say, judging from the numerous competition in dim sum.
