I passed by a cafe while I was shopping in the newly opened and largest mall in Dubai - the Dubai Mall with 1200 shops - where it has the largest indoor aquarium in the world and indoor ice-skating rink. This cafe is called Shakespeare & Co.
This chain restaurant/Coffeehouse is found all around Dubai city. The owners of this place is Lebanese, however, they've managed to bring together English antique furniture, chandeliers, walls filled with colorful tiles with different flowers painted on them... and created a 17th century ambience, with good coffee. All branches offer both indoor and outdoor seating in a classical, French stately home-themed atmosphere with an antique décor made-up of distressed wood, heavy drapes and colourful cushions on Victorian-style sofas.
I especially like the decor of the branch in Dubai Mall, all vibrant colours on the walls and its colourful chairs. I did not have chance to have coffee there so maybe next time I will try. Perhaps this franchise outlet will come to Singapore soon. :)
