Tanjong Pagar Railway Station (Part 1/2)

This Part 1 of 2 series of photos takes you to the Tanjong Pagar Railway StationIt is also known as the Keppel Road railway station or Singapore railway station. It is a railway terminus owned by Keretapi Tanah Melayu (KTM), the main railway operator in Malaysia.  Following an agreement between Malaysia and Singapore which was reached on 24 May 2010, railway operations into the station will cease by 1 July 2011, after which the building will be conserved and may be integrated with future developments on the site. KTM's southern terminus would be relocated to the Woodlands Train Checkpoint.

It has been umpteen years since I was last at this railway station. The previous visit was when my entire extended family of about 30 of us took an overnight train ride up north to Kuala Lumpur. Personally I do not like train rides, even though I had the upper bunk to sleep in. It was noisy and uncomfortable and I could not sleep.

This time I was here to have lunch at Ali Nachias Briyani, which I blogged about earlier. So here, enjoy the nostalgic shots of the railway station, taken on a hazy afternoon.

To be continued.....
