The England Rose

When in Paris a while back, I passed by the tunnel where Princess Diana had died. My mood was perplexed, at the poignant sight of a sad reminder of the past.

Although many people disapproved of her post-royal life, the choices she made … she did seemed to be happy finally in her last days. I really liked her when I was in my teenage years, I don’t know why. Perhaps she was a Cancerian like me. Like every young girl’s dream, she was a beautiful Princess who has found her Prince and supposedly to have lived happily ever after. Her dreams and our dreams were crushed when it didn’t happened. Disappointment turned into disbelief when her life was taken. I had felt that fate was so cruel to have deprived her of that little bit of happiness.

Here's something I wrote for Di:

I Won’t Forget
------------------
A bubble burst, with ripple effects in all directions
A queen died, with sentiments that devastated all
Must be someone great, I wonder, to stir up such emotions
Just a little girl lost, I wonder, to whom God has forsaken?
Her piercing downcast eyes, her Mona Lisa smile, her pained expressions.
Betrayed her kindness, her innocence,
Betrayed her passion, her love for all.
I won’t forget her zest for life.
I won’t forget her quest for love.
I won’t forget her thirst for more love.
I won’t forget her sacrifice to cruel Fate.
I won’t forget her, Diana – my Queen of Hearts. Never.
