Saw these red acrylic plates while I was browsing in Borders. I was surprised to find these in a bookshop. These are reminiscent of those traditional elevated plates Chinese Buddhists use to contain their fruit offerings at the altar. Not sure what is the purpose of these plates here? If they are really for offerings, why are they selling them in a book shop among other stationery and decorative stuff? Maybe I shouldn't be that surprised, as sometimes shops like Cards N Such also carry decorative Buddha statues made of different types of materials.
