His Eminence Khensur Rinpoche Sonam Palsang & the Grand Puja in Suntec

I am just too busy to blog properly. But it has been such a blissful 2 weeks of attending precious teachings. This is the first time that His Eminence Khensur Rinpoche Sonam Palsang is visiting Singapore. Rinpoche hails from Gaden Shartse Monastery and is the retired Khenpo Abbot of Gyuto Tantric Monastery.

All I can say about Rinpoche's teachings is.... amazing, amazing, amazing! Truly amazing! This is a great master-teacher who makes disciples / students stay hooked by explaining the profound teachings in such a simple and direct manner. We were left enthralled. Rinpoche also loves to tell us stories so that we can understand better. Even the Q&A sessions were so interesting, entertaining and heartwarming. One evening, Rinpoche did not teach the scheduled topic of "Dependent Arising", but instead gave a precious teaching as well as the oral transmission of the 3 core essential points which aptly expounded the essence of our practice. And the funny thing is, I observed that that day was the only day whereby the turnout of attendees were considerably lesser than the other days. To those who understand and to those present to receive this oral transmission, they know that it was most precious as it is passed down from the unmistaken lineage of Shakyamuni Buddha, ie. having receiving this oral transmission is akin to receiving the entire teaching by Lord Buddha himself. It also depends on the karmic disposition of the audience present that Rinpoche gave this oral transmission (and the group of us were most most most fortunate!).

Attending Dharma teachings plant the seed in our mental continuum to meet the teachings of the Buddha in future lifetimes. For those interested in attending Rinpoche's teachings, the next public teachings would be on Heart Sutra on 26, 27, 28 August 2011.

And for those who are only interested in pujas and initiations, Rinpoche and his entourage of 25 monks from Gaden Shartse Monastery will be at Suntec City for the Grand 1000 Immaculate Offerings Puja which is happening this weekend, 5,6,7 August 2011. Khensur Rinpoche has received many great initiations and special lineage teachings from renowned great masters such as His Holiness 14th Dalai Lama, Kyabje Trijang Rinpoche, Kyabje Ling Rinpoche, Kyabje Zong Rinpoche, Kyabje Zemey Rinpoche as well as Kyabje Khensur Lati Rinpoche.

I know I am most fortunate to have met yet another guru to guide me along the Dharma path. I have received so much blessings from Khensur Rinpoche Sonam Palsang during his visit this first time. Even my entire family has been personally blessed by Rinpoche, thus creating the affinity to meet Rinpoche and the Buddha-Dharma again in future lifetimes.
