A List Of Mantras For Daily Recitation

Losar Tashi Delek! Today is the start of the Tibetan New Year, the beginning of very important holy 15 days where the Buddha had performed miracles and thus all your merits are multiplied by 100 million times!

In case you have not noticed, I have created a Page in this blog, "Mantras For Daily Recitation" (see top left panel) to be 'permanently' here. I choose to "launch" it today since it is Losar and such a special auspicious day! Or here is the link... http://lol8.blogspot.com/p/daily-mantras.html

I have compiled a long list of mantras (with a brief explanation of each Buddha) which may be useful and beneficial for you to recite daily, especially more so if you have received the oral transmission and the empowerment of the particular Buddha or yidam. I had wanted to compile this list for the longest time, although most of them I can already memorise by heart. Anyway I wanted to bookmark a web page of all mantras in my iPhone so that wherever and whenever I need to chant a certain mantra, I could refer to this page at a click. This list is not exhaustive, and I shall add on/improve on it as we progress.

Along with each mantra, I have also attached a beautiful of photo of each Buddha. These photos are painstakingly picked by me. The reason I chose each of these photos is, when I look at each particular Buddha, the Buddha is alive and "speaking to me". I would suggest you click on each photo to have a clearer, sharper and larger view of each beautiful Buddha in order to appreciate the intricate details as well as to aid in your visualization. Take for example, look at the below Medicine Buddha and Maitreya Buddha.

The Medicine Buddha who clears all inner, outer and secret obstacles for health and close the door to the lower realms
Maitreya Buddha is the coming Buddha who currently resides in Tushita Pureland. He embodies loving kindness and purify negative karma especially hatred and actualizes true love, happiness and accumulation of extensive merits.

Most of the photos of the Buddhas are in the Sambhogakaya form. Besides the mantras in relation to each Buddha, there is also a section of mantras which you can chant for certain actions on a daily basis. For example, there is a mantra which can purifies 100 million eons of negative karma. There is also another mantra called Increasing Mantra, which when recited, empower your prayers with greater strength so that what you pray for may actualize by multiplying 100,000 times.

I hope you find the list of mantras useful. Memorise one mantra a day and you would be able to chant all the mantras in no time. When we recite special mantras, we are engaging our body, speech and mind to transform our mind to develop our Buddha nature. Mantras are chanted repeatedly because transforming the mind takes time. Many of these mantras are chanted in their original Sanskrit, the language of the Buddha. These mantras come from highly realized beings and from the Buddha himself. The mantras here have the incredible power to awaken us to the spiritual path in different ways. If chanting these mantras awaken your inner curiosity to know more, may you find and meet your spiritual master as soon as possible.

May anyone who sees, reads, remembers or recites these mantras from LOL8 blog develop the Bodhicitta heart and strive to be enlightened as soon as possible for the benefit of all sentient beings. May the merit created in publishing this list of mantras be dedicated to the long, stable and healthy lives of all my gurus, especially His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, Kyabje Lama Zopa Rinpoche, Loden Sherab Dagyab Rinpoche, Kangyur Rinpoche Lobsang Choephel, Khen Rinpoche Lama Lhundrup and Garchen Rinpoche. May the reincarnation of Kyabje Lati Rinpoche returns as soon as possible to continue turning the Wheel of Dharma. Through these mantras, may you, my readers, benefit greatly from the blessings of The Three Jewels. Om mani padme hum!
