Another of my guru has arrived from Frankfurt, Germany, for 1.5 months of precious Dharma teachings and unusual empowerments. A warm welcome to His Holiness Dagyab Kyabgoen Rinpoche to Singapore! Dagyab Rinpoche is a reincarnate high lama in his line of tradition, yet he is one of the most very, very, very, very humble teacher-guru I have ever met. His friendly and effervescent demeanor, as well as his acute knowledge and understanding of the Sutra and Tantra has earned him many students and followers from all over the world.

As soon as Rinpoche arrived in Dro Phen Ling, the bright and sunny afternoon was transformed into a sudden welcome drizzle, followed by a few minutes of big drops of rain all in a mere 15 minutes and it stopped. As we are aware, this was such an auspicious sign and blessings.
H.H. Dagyab Rinpoche belongs to the Gelug tradition of Tibetan Buddhism. Rinpoche was recognized as the reincarnation of the 9th Kyabgon of Dagyab in 1945. He is the spiritual and political head or 'Kyabgon' (Lord Protector) of the Dagyab region in Eastern Tibet, like his predecessors since the 17th century. He is especially connected to Dharma Protector Setrap due to his line of reincarnation, and Protector Setrap is a manifestation of Buddha Amitabha in the wrathful form, and resides in the Western Pure Realm of Sukhavati.
Rinpoche is one of the rare living masters today who holds the most transmissions of the Gelugpa lineage, as well as a vast number of transmissions of the Sakya and Kagyu schools. Rinpoche himself received many teachings from different Tibetan Buddhist traditions, particularly from His Holiness the Dalai Lama, as well as His Holiness Sakya Trizin and Kalu Rinpoche. He was also one of the closest students of the late Kyabje Trijiang Rinpoche.

In 1959 Rinpoche left Tibet together with H.H. the Dalai Lama and settled in India where he received his Geshe Lharampa degree. In 1966 Rinpoche was invited to teach at the University of Bonn in Germany. Read more about Rinpoche here.
